When you tell people you live in Birmingham, Alabama, they wrongly guess it is all sunshine and heat, yes, I do experience tepid weather conditions, and i own a pool, I get a tan, and I don’t get snow, then however, I could not get by with just a cooling system.
A furnace is a must-have in my area, but my boiler turns on in September and I need it until March, then so half the year my boiler is laboring, and not exactly a tepid state that everyone believes.
I wanted to own a heat pump system however it only works in hot and cold temperatures above forty degrees. Birmingham, Alabama is too cold! Can you guess it? So I actually got a gas furnace instead for heating. I do central AC for a cooling effect. I have two machines that blow air, aren’t that efficient, and have complications all the time, however that is what I had to do for my area. I am blessed that Birmingham, Alabama is a giant neighborhood and there are quite a few HVAC dealers. The HVAC dealerships all are experienced and certified too! When you live in a neighborhood that kind of sets you apart from the rest. So at least I get good service. I will admit that I am not totally sold on my area. I like having two seasons despite the fact that I have debated on going further south. I don’t want my winter time weather to be quite so long. I also get mornings into the 30s. That isn’t fun at all.
