When I first started acting, it was for the best possible reason – to meet girls, this was back in university, so you can’t truly blame me, however as things turned out, I was really great at acting, and abruptly became the star of the theater group; By this point I had the acting bug, and started auditioning for local plays around town, however one of my outdated coworkers, a director named Ben, recently recruited me to act in his first feature film; I am beyond excited, because for the next month I will be living in Philadelphia, PA while my great friend and I shoot the film.
This is a low budget film, based on the tploy story of the first legal cannabis dispensary that opened in Philadelphia, and how it transformed a village.
The director Ben absolutely rented a real cannabis dispensary for the shoot! During the day the arena is open for business, but at evening the film crew takes it over, and makes it seem like it’s still in 1976’s Philadelphia. I love dressing in the outdated 76s gear, and it’s really cool laboring amidst so many forms of cannabis. These afternoons cannabis is perfectly legal throughout the state, and Philadelphia is condo to dozens of peculiar dispensaries. But back in the day weed was still illegal, and one enterprising Philadelphia company owner had to conflict the system. Sounds like a great story for a film, right? I’m psyched about the project, I’m stoked about the history behind it, but mostly I’m gleeful to be laboring in Philadelphia for the next few weeks.
