My girlfriend and I decided to move to Elgin, Illinois. My girlfriend’s parents lived in Elgin and they offered to let us rent the apartment over the garage. The apartment was only one bedroom and one bathroom, but it was big enough for my girlfriend and I to get started. Her parents didn’t charge very much money for the two of us to live in the garage apartment and they were respectful of our space and our things. We lived in that apartment for 3 years. During that time, when something was wrong with the plumbing, heating, or air conditioning, we called my girlfriend’s dad. He took care of the repairs in the apartment. With my girlfriend and I moved out of the apartment and into a townhouse, we were responsible for all of the repairs that I needed to be done. Everything in the townhouse was up to date and modern when we moved into the community. Unfortunately, a couple of years later we had problems with the AC unit. It was the middle of a hot summer day when the problem occurred. I called the AC service company in Elgin, Illinois, and they came to the townhouse to fix the problem. Later that evening, we had problems with the AC unit again. Thankfully the Elgin AC repair company was available for emergency services. They offered 24/7 responses to all calls and that included weekends, holidays, and overnight repairs. One of the contractors came to our townhouse at 2:00 in the morning to inspect and investigate the problems with the AC unit. That’s when we found out that the system needed to be replaced.
