You need to make sure you have a backup generator for when the power goes out as well, then as far as A/C goes though, I just skate by without one
It gets freezing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but you can’t expect to go without a regular working heating system in our area, then my home alone has three odd heating systems! I have a gas fireplace in my residing room, a ventless furnace in the kitchen, and an electric furnace upstairs for emergencies, however our weather gets freezing early in the fall and doesn’t let up until late Spring. It isn’t unproper to trick or treat or hunt for Easter eggs and experience snow… Due to this, my buddy and I are hardcore about our heating equipment. I don’t mess around when it starts to get cold, however the moment fall arrives, I am on the phone with my local Minneapolis HVAC corporation requesting heating service. I make sure all three of my boilers are clean as a whistle inside. I make sure all the air filters are changed, the blowers are oiled, the belts are lubricated, and all connections are tight. I don’t want a sudden furnace repair when it is 15 degrees outside. I don’t want to wake up to no working heating system. My section is freezing enough that not having any heat is quite a danger. The summer time isn’t that long or that boiling either. I just use a box fan for those hotter afternoons. Most of the time I open the windows and enjo a breeze.
