The first time I went to Las Vegas, NV, I was surprised to see all the signs on the sidewalk that said no smoking on the streets, however apparently many people didn’t think smoking included smoke marijuana, and every site you looked, there were people walking around with marijuana cigarettes in their hands; There were people walking around with vape pens and many of them that were openly using any kind of marijuana possible… When I looked at the sign that said it was illegal to use marijuana in public, I had to laugh.
There was a group of close to many people who were standing right under the street sign and they were all smoking and visibly high… My child thought it was a kind of funny, but I worried about this generation of people and how easy it was to ignore the law… I knew I should keep our mouth shut, however when our grandson joined them in using marijuana on the street, I yelled at him.
I told him to look at the signs and think they were the law in Las Vegas, NV; She told me I was old-fashioned, and she was going to smoke pot in public if she wanted to. Although our child sort of agreed with him, she still didn’t like her child talking to me that way. Maybe I am old-fashioned, however the law is the law, whether it is for jay walking or smoking marijuana in public. They taught me to follow the law, and not abuse it, however I’m from a weird generation.
