My mom and dad moved to the Villages a couple of years ago.
The Villages is a place in Central Florida that spans Marion, Sumter, and Lake counties.
The Villages has a wide variety of recreational activities for seniors including access to golf courses, recreational activities, pickleball, restaurants, and swimming. The community was designed to cater to adults that are 55 years and older. My Mom and Dad loved their place in The Villages. They bought a small house that has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Last time I went to visit my mom and dad, I decided to stay for a couple of days. While I was there, a problem with the AC unit occurred. My mom and dad called the AC repairman in The Villages and I was there when the service professional arrived. I didn’t expect to see a familiar face, but I recognized the repairman as a guy that I went to high school with back in the early 2000s. The guy looked exactly the same. He remembered me too. We talked for a couple of minutes before he started working on the AC unit. When he got ready to leave, he asked if I was going to be in town for long. Since I was leaving the next day, we agreed to meet up next time. We exchanged email and phone information so I could get in touch with the guy next time I was visiting my mom and dad in The Villages. It was really nice to see Harvey again and he still looks exactly the same, but not so skinny.
