Oil to gas conversion for SD house

It was so nice having a gas furnace instead.

Living in South Dakota means that heating is the priority. Our winter season comes early and doesn’t let up. The night time temps get into the single digs. Windchill makes it feel like it is in the negatives. It gets pretty horrible sometimes. I recently changed my heating situation and that made a world of difference. I was relying on an oil furnace and then changed to a gas furnace. The oil furnace burns a hotter flame. It was more efficient and could heat a larger space. However, I hated having an on site oil tank in my house. It was ugly and used up half of myspace. I also didn’t like being dependent on oil deliveries. There were times the snow stopped deliveries and we were running very short. I was worried a few times that my house was going to be unheated. The cost of oil is always so expensive too. A gas furnace just seemed better. I called around and I found a Sioux Falls HVAC dealer that does oil to gas conversions. He removed the oil tank and added gas hookups and a flue system. I then got the furnace hooked up to the ductwork and off we went. It was so nice having a gas furnace instead. There was no more fear of running out and no more ugly tank. The gas furnace works just fine for SD weather too. We run it basically 24/7 and the system never seems to want to give up. I am glad that it can heat the whole household with ductwork.
