Alsip is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Alsip is a great place to live, especially if you work in chicago. It can be very expensive to live in the city, but the real estate prices are much more reasonable in Alsip, about 30 minutes outside of the city. My husband and I moved to Alsip last year. We were living in one of the southern states and this year was the first time that we actually had to deal with the cold temperatures and snow. We moved here last year right after winter was over and we missed all of the cold weather. This year we had several days in a row when the temperature was lower than the freezing mark. In fact, we had several days in a row when the temperature was in the single digits. At night the temperatures dropped to an even lower degree. One night temperatures outside dropped down to -15°. That night we had problems with the furnace. Around 3:00 in the morning I got up to use the bathroom and I noticed it was very cold in the house. It was definitely colder than it should have been. I put on a robe and some slippers and I went out to the living room to check the thermostat. It was only 55° in the house and the furnace wasn’t running. I woke up my husband so he could check on the furnace. Unfortunately, he could not fix the problem and we had to contact an Alsip heating company to help us.
