When I visited New Orleans I knew that drinking in public was legal, so I always walked around with a drink in my hand. I thought the same rules would apply in Albuquerque, and I could just spark up and smoke weed any place I wanted to. As a friendly piece of advice, do not ever smoke cannabis while driving in Albuquerque, they treat it the same way as drinking and driving. So speaking from experience, let me give a few simple rules to follow when you’re in Albuquerque. First, make sure you get a hotel room or an AirBnB rental that allows smoking, so you can spark up some marijuana before you head out. If you are stoned and in public, then for goodness sake don’t carry cannabis on your person. If you are sober, then the possession of cannabis won’t get you into trouble in Albuquerque. I bet some of the Albuquerque cops even have weed on them! It’s when you have cannabis in your system, and in your pocket, that the police will come down on you like a ton of bricks..
