Traveling local with a baby

Since having a baby my husband and I are limited in where we can go.

Our son doesn’t travel well.

We took him to Aruba when he was a year old and that was a nightmare. He hated being in the airport and on a plane. So we stick to car rides. If he is in the car too long, he gets really fussy. So it is only by car and not too far. Thankfully we live in Florida and it is such a big state. There are plenty of locations to explore and hang out at. We have seen Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and Daytona. We recently headed towards Tampa and St. Petersburg. I really liked St. Petersburg. I always spring for a really good hotel room. I like that when you go to St. Pete’s you can get a place right on the beach. I booked a suite that had us all in the same room with easy water access. The suite was classy, large, and clean. We then were walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Anything we needed was right there. The three of us stayed a week and it was more than worth it. Since we stay quite local, the costs are low. All we have to do is buy a swanky room and a few meals out. Other than that we get a great vacation for around half the cost of what they usually were. I know I will be back to St. Petersburg again for a trip. Hopefully someday we can move out of the state for trips, but for right now it is good.
